Whispering of the Spirit

I learned one of my critical building blocks as a missionary during my training. I struggled with the language. I tried to be a good missionary, but I didn't really know how.
One week in November 2022 we decided, with permission from our mission leaders, to change our preparation day from Monday to Wednesday so we could attend the temple. That Monday was a wild day, as people begged for food at our house and fights in the street among other things. Later when I was leading out that day, we were waiting for a certain bus route to pass by but decided to take a more frequent route that took us just a little bit further than where we needed to be.
We were headed to an area a bit more sketchy. On the bus, looking at the map, I was thinking of going 3 blocks to the right and then 2 blocks up after we would get off. While traveling, I had the distinct and subtle thought to go 2 blocks up, then 3 blocks to the right, but what's the difference, right?
Again, the subtle thought came to me that we should go up instead of to the right. After traveling 3 blocks to the right and 1 block up, 2 guys surrounded us and robbed us of our cell phone.
After being shaken up so much from the experience and not understanding what happened, I reflected on the subtle thoughts I had had and how I had not acted upon them. "It was not a voice of thunder, neither was it a voice of a great tumultuous noise, but behold, it was a still voice of perfect mildness, as if it had been a whisper" (Helaman 5:30). And so it was with me. I didn’t recognize it was the Spirit, but now I am certain it was. I vowed to recognize and never hesitate to heed upon any tiny whispering or subtle prompting of the Spirit, and since then many miracles in my life and the lives of others have come to pass.
